Uhh ... Louiseana?

I spend a lot of time watching other people's kids. And I don't mean babysitting. I mean, staring.

Kids are great. When I tell them to ignore me, they actually do. Children accept the presence of a "really big camera" far better than adults. I sat in on a Geography Bee this afternoon at Pleasant View Elementary School, Franklin. An incredibly easy assignment ... something I'd consider, free smiles.

great pics, I love your part of Franklin Now something positive to see on the site.  I have been in the travel industry for 23 years and we talk to adults that do not know US geography so this is great to see.  Thanks

Thank you very much for the comment! I'm glad to see you enjoy my blog. That's what I'm here for. As I was shooting the Bee yesterday, the theme song from the television show, "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" kept running through my mind.

Please let me know if you have any photo ideas ... we're always open to hearing more regarding what's going on in the community!

What a fabulous photo! Look at all the emotion at that table. Oh the agony of LOUISEANA there in the middle… poor kid. It’s a tough state to spell! So glad you could take me there Ms. Derksen!

I used to know a man named George Horsford — any relation? He had this black cap ...

Ah, those were the days of sunshine and senior citizen sychronized swimming.
