My dear mother passed away Sunday after a courageous battle with cancer.
I am glad her pain and suffering has ended and she’s found peace.
But oh, how I miss her.
I love you mom.

Well, okay, one peanut.
That’s my grandson in the photo. His peanut costume was purchased last year from BuySeasons.

A spate of family medical emergencies, injuries, health problems and other pressing issues has consumed much of my time during the last few weeks.
As a result, I haven’t been blogging as much as I’d like or usually do.
But stay tuned, I'll be posting another blog entry soon.

An e-postcard to you.....
Greetings from outside New Berlin. I've been in Florida since Sunday, April 6, visiting some family members and taking a break from regular routine and blogging. I'm hoping the sunshine and warmer weather here will facilitate recovery from the influenza, health problems and complications I've been struggling with during these last two months. The Sunshine State is a great vacation and recreation spot. A fun place to visit. However, there's no place like home.

Happy Easter!
Today is also our grandson's first birthday.
We celebrated this special occasion yesterday and today.
He sure seems to be enjoying the birthday cake:

It’s his first Christmas and Santa Baby can't wait for the milk and cookies.
Of course, li'l Santa will get some toys, too. Shopping for them was a bit of a challenge, given all of the recalls due to lead paint or other hazards.
We wish you a joyful holiday season.
Merry Christmas!

I see that Matt Thomas posted a blog late Monday night titled The Truth about Linda Richter.
The truth is that I have spent the greater part of the day and evening Tuesday assisting/caring for my terminally ill mother.
The truth is that Tuesday was a gorgeous, warm day. I would have enjoyed taking a walk outdoors in the sunny 72 degree weather. But that can wait. My mom’s needs take priority. She relies on my help, my skills ( I am a registered nurse) and support. There will be other warm days for me to enjoy.
The truth is that I would have liked to attend Tuesday's Common Council meeting, too. But being with my mom was of greater importance to me. I treasure the time spent with her. There will be other Council meetings.
The truth is that it’s well after midnight. I’ve been up since 6 a.m. It’s been a long, eventful day. I am physically tired, emotionally drained. Too tired to read Thomas’ blog tonight, despite its provocative title. To me, some things matter more--like my family and sleep. Thomas' blog can wait.
