Conservatively Speaking

Her Senate District 28 includes New Berlin, Franklin, Greendale, Hales Corners, Muskego, Waterford, Big Bend and parts of Greenfield, East Troy, and Mukwonago. Senator Lazich has been in the Legislature for more than a decade. She considers herself a tireless crusader for lower taxes, reduced spending and smaller government.

Wisconsin ill-equipped to handle recession

If a recession does hit America, Wisconsin will be less prepared to handle the economic downturn than most other states.

That is the assessment of the non-partisan Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance (WISTAX).

A new report by WISTAX says:

Unlike most states, which amassed major surpluses in recent years, Wisconsin has little with which to withstand a recession. While state governments around the country have combined 2007-08 surpluses of almost $46 billion, Wisconsin may be facing a $400-million revenue shortfall with only $124 million in reserve.

Here are more details from WISTAX

Why are we ill-equipted, well lets start with all of the American jobs that are now in China. How can you have a strong economy when no one has a decent job? People are losing their homes, gasoline is at an outrageous amount (oh by the way energy merchants are posting record profits),your worried about estate taxes that only benefit the rich.

If you really want to get this economy going start making America strong, get rid of greedy ceo's that just want to profit at America's expense.

Who would invest their children’s college fund in a company that would increase its operating costs by moving to a high-tax state?

“Overpaid” CEOs are in China-based companies also.  They are not the cause of Wisconsin’s overspending on state programs.  Wisconsin’s big-government, big spenders are to blame.

Playing the "Republican" blame game isn't it either. There is enough blame to go around, but "corporate" America IS at the heart of it!!

To quote a famous Democrat:  "It depends on what the meaning of the words 'IS' is."
